ABSTRACT
World War II proved to be a godsend for industry in the United States. The military provided an almost unlimited demand that more than made up for the demand that consumers had lacked during the Depression. Almost anything that could be built could be sold. Yes, rationing was inconvenient, but everything else fell into place during the war.
