ABSTRACT

I have suggested that feminist utopian expression is significantly deviant from the utopianism of perfection assumed by some contentbased approaches. I have further suggested new ways in which we might apply theories of multiplicity to the body of contemporary feminist utopianism in order to make intelligible these moves towards an openended conception of the future and the present within the context of the complex and shifting nature of contemporary feminism itself. I have, in other words, indicated some of the ways in which my approach to utopianism might be said to be best for the ‘now’ of contemporary feminism.
