The previous chapter discussed the concepts of effectiveness and efficiency in social ventures. Building on this knowledge, this chapter explains the importance of scaling social ventures. The chapter is organized into three main sections. The first section explores the importance of scaling a social venture. Specifically, it explains what scaling is and why social ventures might need to scale their activities to accomplish their social mission effectively. The second section discusses the strategies social entrepreneurs can use to scale their social ventures. The third section provides guidelines for scaling social ventures.
