Dawson (1883–1959) was an Anglo-American author of steamy romances (such as The Garden Without Walls, a best-seller in 1913) and patriotic war novels (includingThe Glory of the Trenches 1918). He served in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces during World War I as a lieutenant of field artillery.
