ABSTRACT
Friedman is professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. He is author of Stream of Consciousness: A Study inLiterary Method (1955) and numerous articles on American and European literature. He has also edited books on Flannery O'Connor, Samuel Beckett, Ionesco, and William Styron.
