Ludington (b. 1936), professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is the editor of Dos Passos's letters (The FourteenthChronicle (Boston: Gambit, 1973)) and author of the biography, John DosPassos:A Twentieth Century Odyssey (New York: E.P.Dutton, 1980).
