exegesis and theology, Theodore served as Bishop of Mopsuestia from 392 until his death in 428. Primarily because of alleged similarities with Pelagianism and Nestorianism, Theodore’s theological views were condemned by the Emperor Justinian and by the Fifth Council of Constantinople in 553.
