ABSTRACT
The previous two chapters have shown that in the 1970s and 1980s the Association's activities were diversified to embrace a range of community-based or ‘bottom up’ initiatives. This shift in emphasis closely reflected changes in the role and status accorded to town and country planning amongst the public and politicians alike.
