ABSTRACT

I have told people, and would continue to say, that to choose a course of study or degree in gender and/or women’s studies is probably the best foundation one can have from which to grow as a critical thinker and life-long learner. Choosing to do a degree in women’s and gender studies takes confidence and a willingness to be challenged academically, politically, and personally. I consider it a tremendous privilege to have earned this degree, and with it comes the responsibility to make a contribution to your piece of the world, whether in the field of women’s and gender studies, in law, health, arts, community activism and beyond, or in my field, education.
