ABSTRACT

The discussion from the previous chapter may best be summarised in the following way:

It would appear that with the variety of symptoms and behaviours, there are a variety of possible conditions indicated, as well as a number of contributory factors. There seems to be no one specific condition or state which can be seen as a particular result of samAW. Conversely, it appears that the effects of music, recitation and other aural stimuli are multifarious, and dependent on a number of factors, physiological, psychological, cultural, and otherwise.
