Anacousticallygoodenvironmentiscrucialforeffectiveclassroom listening.Anacousticallygoodenvironmentcanbedefinedasonethat providesconditionsinwhichusefulsoundscanbeclearly distinguished,andinwhichnoiseissuppressed.Itisimportantto understandtheconditionsunderwhichchildrenareworkingduringthe schoolday,asspeechintelligibilityisgreatlyaffectedbynoiseand reverberation.Mostschoolsprovideanacousticallyhostileenvironment thatparticularlydisadvantageshearingaidwearers.
