ABSTRACT
In this chapter we look at the costs for synchronous technologies, and also the organizational issues involved. Because the technology is still evolving, it is difficult to find a stable basis for estimating costs or discussing organizational issues. However, although new technology developments may drive down absolute costs, the cost structures for synchronous technologies are surprisingly stable, and the organizational issues around synchronous technologies are becoming clear.
