ABSTRACT

Historically the psychological models which influenced the definition and conceptualisation of behaviour problems have also influenced behaviour intervention approaches and techniques (Walker and Shea 1988). Most of the approaches have initially been developed by professionals working in different disciplines (mental health, clinical psychology); however, a number of them have been adopted and adjusted to be used in educational settings (Davies et al. 2004; Elliot and Place 1998; Mayhew 1997).
