ABSTRACT
This chapter looks closely at different question formats suitable for CAA using objective tests and offers detailed suggestions for constructing effective test items. The chapter discusses different types of questions and explores how these can be used to test various levels of learning. McBeath (1992) and Heard et al. (1997b) offer similar approaches and Haladyna (1997) offers practical examples of writing questions to test higher levels of learning.
