ABSTRACT
For children who ‘look different’ each new start, from playgroup to college and beyond, means encountering all those initial reactions all over again – staring, avoiding, furtive glances, surprise, interest, embarrassment, concern. From playschool to college, there are many transitions – each new start is an opportunity to practise encountering new people positively and effectively.
