ABSTRACT

This chapter sets out to give some useful definitions and examples to make sure that you can play your part, whatever that is, within the assessment system. The chapter closes with a brief example of a true/false questionnaire which aims to demonstrate how concepts can be assessed using a technique which is increasingly available to lecturers, especially through Virtual Learning Environments, as well as giving you a chance to see how clear you are in your understanding of how concepts in assessment apply in your work.
