ABSTRACT
In this chapter we focus on the services, sanctions and support which are targeted at disaffected youth. Drawing on girls’ own accounts as well as those of various professionals who work with them, we examine the relationship between the different conceptualisations of girls’ and boys’ problems and the ways in which resources are allocated and accessed by different groups of young people.
