ABSTRACT

So far, we have focused upon particular research methods – that is, the processes we engage in, and the specific techniques we make use of, in order to carry out political research. What I hope you have learnt is that the experience of carrying out research is influenced by a variety of issues and constraints. There is not necessarily a ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to address a research question, although there are ‘more appropriate’ methodological techniques and tools.
