ABSTRACT
We have all seen the advertisements during daytime and late-night television: “In six short weeks you can be a truck driver, a nurse’s aide, a medical assistant, or a computer programmer.” These advertisements tout that by training at a particular school for a “high paying, high prestige career,” the “good life” will be yours. All you have to do is pick up the phone (now) and call 1-800-whatever (you can begin almost immediately because classes are always forming).
