Jaruzelski over the shooting of forty-four protesters in 1970 when he was defence minister. The judge rules that as the general has been charged among other things with infringing the constitution, the court has no authority in the case and
that he can be tried only by Poland’s special State Tribunal (IHT, 26 April 1996, p. 6).
