ABSTRACT
Hungarian is not at all difficult to pronounce and you will find that, for the most part, the words are pronounced as they are written. The alphabet is almost the same as in English – some diacritics are added over the vowels to indicate their pronunciation and some letters look more like clusters of consonants than single letters. Once you memorize their sounds, however, you will find that the one-to-one correspondence of letters to sounds makes pronouncing Hungarian words easier than trying to figure out how some English words are pronounced. To add to the ease of pronunciation, all words have their stress on the first syllable – no exceptions.
