ABSTRACT
In this chapter I want to take the first two of these three purposes and assess how, in particular, this study may have contributed to fulfilling them. I shall also discuss some of the limitations of the study that may have restricted its ability to make a fuller contribution. In light of these limitations, I shall identify some potentially fruitful directions and areas for future research. The chapter begins by looking at the empirical contributions of
the study. It then reviews its theoretical contributions, assessing what the study may have added to the emerging theoretical debate and what still needs to be done.
