ABSTRACT
An important part of any electrical design is the determination of the size of cables. The size of cable to be used in a given circuit is governed by the current which the circuit has to carry, so the design problem is to decide the size of cable needed to carry a known current. Two separate factors have to be taken into account in assessing this, and the size of cable chosen will depend on which factor yields the larger value in each particular case.
