ABSTRACT
This chapter explores a small sample of property-related decision-making situations as they are approached, analysed and resolved in practice. Section 17.2 is the work of Brigitte Hague of Norwich Union Real Estate Managers. This section contains an example of producing a Report to the Trustees, based on the performance appraisal of a portfolio of property assets. The presentation of this example is normative—i.e. drawing attention to those aspects which should be (and should be expected to be) included in a portfolio report. In the example the IPD Annual Index is used as the benchmark in a manner considered appropriate by the author.
