ABSTRACT
One of the main changes in the practice of risk analysis for process plant during the 1980's was the widespread use of computer programs for risk calculation. In particular the use of personal computers to support risk analysis has made a large difference to the way in which risk analyses are carried out. The analysis process has become more effective, and at the same time, has become much more quantitative.
