ABSTRACT

Up to now, high-performance concrete has always been transported in the same way as usual concrete using transit truck mixers. However, it can also be transported with stationary trucks with or without agitators. The main problem faced during concrete transportation is slump loss and airvoid stability in the case of air-entrained high-performance concrete. This problem has been discussed in terms of cement/superplasticizer compatibility in Chapter 7 but not in terms of duration and ambient temperature during concrete delivery.
