ABSTRACT

Traditionally, real estate valuation in Italy has been characterized by a lack of advanced training and practice in the appraisal of property investments, both in the private sector and, in particular, the public sector. However, there is a long tradition of appraisal connected with the valuation of domestic property and land. In addition, there are few dedicated professional bodies and specialized journals dealing with property. Indeed, the public sector has not even addressed the issue of acquiring professional competence in the field of commercial real estate appraisal.
