ABSTRACT
There are a whole range of national, regional and local agencies which assist in providing for public leisure and recreation. They are often hybrids of public authorities and private organizations, and while it is not their primary function to provide facilities, some of them do, and all of them influence provision through grants, loans, technical advice or support of some kind. The major agencies form a regional network of services.
