ABSTRACT

A well-designed and managed reclamation is one where interested parties have no doubt that the reclaimed land is indeed fit for its intended purpose. In contrast, the qualities of ill-managed reclamations are questioned, regulators demand additional proof-testing work, and potential purchasers find the confirmation of the reclamation standards unconvincing. These doubts can cause the land resale values to fall and, in some worst cases, can leave the reclaimed land unusable.
