ABSTRACT
Migraine is an ancient attliction, and one of humankind's most recalcitrant maladies. In essence, migraine is defined as a syndrome with headache, often hemicranial, which includes some combination of the following symptoms: a beating pain quality, " lightning pains," nausea, vomiting or anorexia, photophobia and phonophobia, visual disturbance such as hemianopsia, blurring, fortification spectra or other visual perturbations, and a strong genetic predilection. Migraine may include an aura (neurological prodromal disturbance) or lack this warning (simple migraine).
