ABSTRACT

There is an unfortunate and surprising dearth of information pertaining to the consequences of marijuana use during pregnancy, particularly with respect to the long-term consequences upon the offspring. It is unfortunate because, from a policy point of view, there are no lack of individuals willing to state strong (very often subjective) opinions about the effects or lack of effects of marijuana upon the unborn child. This is surprising in that cannabis is the most commonly used illicit drug among women of childbearing age.
