ABSTRACT
Who are cultural tourists? On the surface, this question seems straightforward, but, as with everything to do with cultural tourism, the issue is enmeshed in layers of complexity. Just as no two cultural tourism products are exactly the same, no two cultural tourists are exactly the same. However, groups of cultural tourists do share similar behavioral characteristics, allowing us to categorize them into broad classes. Five types of cultural tourists are identified in this chapter.
