ABSTRACT
In earlier chapters various conditions which might influence pupils’ test performance have been mentioned and these are now considered more fully. The topic is important because the interpretation of results and any consequent decisions may be affected. Three aspects are considered: (1) situational effects; (2) individual factors; and (3) features in the test.
