ABSTRACT
Vaccination, whereby antigens are given in an effort to produce immunization against that same disease when encountered in the future, is a relatively cheap and easy health intervention with tremendously successful results. It is not only effective in virtually eliminating the possibility of contracting a disease for an individual, it also serves as a public good whereby transmission of infection is significantly lowered for the rest of the population. It is considered one of the most cost-effective health interventions available.
