ABSTRACT

There are three main physiological aspects of gymnastics, namely Joint Mobility sometimes referred to a suppleness or flexibility, Muscle Strength and Stamina. Stamina to some extent can be left to be achieved in other aspects of physical education but strength and mobility cannot be left to chance and it is perhaps mainly through gymnastics that children gain in all round strength and mobility. Certainly each lesson should have a warm up and body preparation section. The aim of the warm up is self evident, to literally warm up the body, whilst the body preparation section is a developmental process.
