ABSTRACT
School policies are a record of the thinking within a school; the formal publication of how the school ethos affects each curriculum area. They are often produced as a result of in-school discussion and training, using expertise within the school, supported by information from advice and in-service training. Guidance can be gained from documents such as the National Curriculum inspection handbook and may be based on a format devised by the LEA.
