ABSTRACT
Throughout this book we have made the case for evidence-based management and leadership. Knowledge of what is happening inside classrooms is vital to the work of school leaders. Clearly, monitoring is a key part of finding out what is happening across a school. However, we have argued that monitoring should be seen as an integral part of school self-evaluation.
