ABSTRACT
Essay ‘structure’ is one of the things that people always go on about when they are telling you how to write essays and when they’re telling you what you did wrong when you wrote your last one. It’s one of the main criteria in most formal marking schemes. It’s one of the things that the person marking your essay will have to pass judgement on, and it will probably be one of the things that somebody will be going on about when you get feedback from your next essay.
