In the process of writing this book, we find ourselves in somewhat of a bind. It is customary with a work of this length to break a subject down into chapters that each covers some key element of its message. We have made an effort to do just that. However, we do not want to perpetuate or promote the misconception that hypnosis is a sequence of unrelated stages or techniques, one after the other. We don’t necessarily even want to suggest that hypnosis begins with the induction and ends in reorientation.
