ABSTRACT
Sweden, a country of almost nine million inhabitants, has a record of liberal social relations. Many of the controversies on the labor market and concerning the distribution of wealth have been solved peacefully by negotiations between the parties concerned. The struggle for equality has been hard, but fairly successful until the 1990s, when a change in social climate could be noticed. The same could be said regarding sexual relations. A long tradition of liberal and free sex makes Sweden the third country to adopt a law of partnership between adult homosexuals. All the Scandinavian countries except Finland now have the same laws.
