ABSTRACT
Previous chapters have outlined different aspects of clinical evaluation of children's development. In summary, these have encompassed:
eliciting concerns from parents/carers;
noting medical or psycho-social risk factors;
information regarding the child's current functioning (academic, social-behavioural or daily life activities) and any informal observation of the child;
structured observation of developmental abilities;
physical examination;
investigations.
