ABSTRACT
As the model outlined in Chapter 3 would suggest, the psychological assessment of psychotic patients is very similar to that of other patients. Therefore, this chapter begins by examining the purposes of assessment, then provides an introduction to the basic elements of a cognitive behavioural interview, and finally provide more detailed information regarding specific measures and methods of gathering information that can be used to produce a formulation that will guide intervention.
