ABSTRACT

Gustave Lyon’s salutary remarks. The article itself is made up primarily of a series of excerpts from reviews of the concert which appeared in other journals, such as Le Figaro, Le Temps, Gaulois, Liberté, Le Petit Journal, and Paul Dukas’s favorable critique in the Revue Hebdomadaire. Blondel makes an interesting observation that he found it “curious” that the music periodicals were more “discreet” and more “reserved” in their appreciations of the concert than the political journals.
