ABSTRACT

Water resources are a huge topic and a very important one, because water impinges on virtually every aspect of daily life. The topic can be broken up in many ways and the most common is into supply and demand. Another way is to attempt to account for the components of the water budget, like a balance sheet of income and out-goings. This is the most common construct when nations are trying to anticipate future water-resource problems. A further way is to think how water is used in the main economic sectors of the economy – agriculture, industry, tourism and domestic consumption.
