ABSTRACT

When Ann Schuursma published Ethnomusicology Research: A Select Annotated Bibliography in 1992, for the first time the discipline of ethnomusicology had a substantial book-length annotated resource to guide scholarly research in the field. 1 In the twenty-first century, it remains an important source for informing researchers about specific scholarly works from 1960 to the late 1980s, a significant period in the history of the discipline. The literature of this period essentially frames the development of ethnomusicology as a distinct discipline in the scholarly world.
