ABSTRACT

Another aspect of concern which was frequently discussed by teachers in the schools studied was that of their health. On a day-to-day basis the health of teachers obviously does affect their work. They discussed getting particularly tired towards the end of the week and at the end of term; they sometimes had colds, headaches or other minor ailments; and they sometimes had more serious health problems. These factors formed a teacher-interest which would be defended even in the classroom. For instance:
