ABSTRACT

To start a comb pattern a straight comb line is run along the width of the ceiling with a 180mm standard comb. The comb is held at an angle of 25-30 degrees from the ceiling with the back plate facing away from the ceiling. Where possible it is pulled in one continuous stroke. If a break in the line is necessary due to build up of mix on the comb, clean off the mix and run a line from the opposite end of the ceiling, lifting the comb away from the ceiling whilst still pulling it along, this will avoid a ridge where the comb has been taken off the line.
