The Soviet partisan movement and German occupation policy in Western, Soviet and post-Soviet writing

A significant quantity of Soviet historical literature is available on the partisan movement during the Great Patriotic War. This is unsurprising given that the partisan movement was increasingly frequently portrayed as a key element in Soviet victory over the Nazi invader. Besides the economic disruption caused by the partisans to German attempts to economically exploit the occupied territories, the partisans were seen to have inflicted both significant casualties on German forces and damage to German material resources.
