ABSTRACT

THE study of the output situation and of the supervisory situation in the Bank Wiring Observation Room raised many questions in the minds of the investigators which could not be answered apart from a more thorough analysis of the interpersonal relations existing among the operators themselves. It will be the purpose of this and the next chapter, therefore, to make such an analysis. In this chapter, only the descriptive material pertaining to the relations which existed among the fourteen operators will be presented. The purpose of this chapter, in other words, is to present the data upon which the investigators based their analysis. Then in the next chapter, the method used in analyzing this material and the conclusions reached will be presented.
