ABSTRACT
I pursue the two-headed theme, with regard to empirical science, of what there is and how we know what we know about it.1 I find these topics linked, and this book is one long intricate argument around which they intertwine. I won’t give the argument here – the book itself does that – but I offer a schematic overview to provide the reader a fair sense of where things are going and how they fit together.
